Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)

Something you know, plus something you have.

Something you know, plus something you have.

What is MFA?

  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA), also known as 2-factor or 2-step authentication, is an electronic authentication method in which a user is granted access to services (A website or application).

  • MFA works by requiring you to provide two or more verification methods to prove who you are for a successful authentication. You can protect your CSPD account with something you know - your password, and something you have - your personal device.

  • MFA plays an essential role in securing your CSPD account.  By setting up MFA, this enables users to have a second layer of protection/encryption on their account.  CSPD will be using the following methods for MFA:

      • Okta Verify App

      • (SMS) Text Message

You can learn how to set it up by going to this website: https://mfaresource.parra.catholic.edu.au/
